Please know that today is that day where you MUST re-activate or create an account for yourself in order for you to attend their pre-college summer courses! I just did and so did my friend as well. THIS IS NOT THE DATE TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES! April 29 is the register date of the classes. For more info go to fitnyc.edu and click on FIT is My Future. One you are there, simple click on the left hand side of the screen Pre-College/Saturday Live. Then click on any program you wish to view details on. Classes are for Middle School and High School students. I cannot bear to tell you how much fun I had last summer and how informative these classes are. If you can do them, take the opportunity! You'll be thankful you did.
Demi Lovato Deluxe CD
Just like the title of her CD, don't forget to check out Demi Lovato's Deluxe Edition of her debut album "Don't Forget" on March 31. The picture above really says it all. I'm a huge fan of this CD already and is thinking about buying this CD and DVD combo.
If you haven't gotten the CD already, this is a great time to! Her songs are very easy to relate to and just a heads up, she's going on tour this summer WITHOUT the Jonas Bros! I hope I can see her cause she was excellent last summer on the Burnin' Up Tour.

More Jonas Brothers
They seem to be everywhere these days! But three of my favorite boys, the JoBros seem to be having a crazy month. They keep adding new dates to their World Tour that has been selling out like crazy, tonight they're up for a Kids Choice Award tonight on Nickelodeon and also, a repeat of their SNL episode will be on tonight on NBC.
If you're going to see one of the shows for the World Tour, here's a video the band posted on their website that gives you a rough view of what the stage will look like.
Ralph Lauren Rugby
One of my favorite brands by the king of merchandising himself, Ralph Lauren is Rugby. Introduced to me by my professor this summer at FIT, the brand has clothing targeted towards a younger, somewhat high-class generation. The clothes are the same country club-like style that Lauren himself usually has, but with a somewhat teenage twist to it.
The clothes don't come cheap however. The dress on the left is $105. Most of their stuff is in the $60-$200 range. But one thing that I do love about Rugby's website are the clothes you can customize such as hoodies and polos.
To customize your own clothes or just browse through the merchandise go to www.rugby.com. If you live in the NYC area, check out their store in Flatiron.

Discount Designer Denim!!!!
I recently received an email alert from Bloomingdales that I thought I'd share with you. It seems now that because the economy is so bad, department stores are having discounts everywhere! Today through Sunday, Bloomingdales is taking 25% off of your purchase when you buy two or more pairs of regularly priced denim (in-store or online at www.bloomingdales.com).
Now folks, I can't exactly afford the brands that are sold at Bloomingdales, but I must say, when do you ever find a discount on designer jeans?! Brands included in the sale are my top three denim brands: Seven For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity and True Religion. My favorite of the three is definitely True Religion because they have that nice, tight fit but they're not too tight. Yet, a pair of their jeans is an average cost of $200.
So if you're not busy this weekend and you want to treat yourself, HEAD TO BLOOMIES! BTW, the sale is also good on Mens and Kids jeans as well (your man and your kid should be just as stylish as you, right?)

Death of an Actress
As most of you have probably seen on the news, actress Natasha Richardson (daughter of legendary actress Vanessa Redgrave and wife of Liam Neeson) had suffered a head injury during a skiing lesson in a luxury Quebec ski resort. At first, it seemed that the actress and mother of two sons was fine. Apparently, she had gotten right up after a fall but was immediately brought back to her hotel room at the resort.
Unfortunately, there was more damage done than thought. As Richardson's head injury became critical, she was brought to a hospital in NYC. Tragically, she passed away today from the injury at the age of 45.

Dress like Joe Jonas... and The Thespian!
If it weren't for the Jonas Brothers and their amazing stylist Michelle Tomaszewski for choosing pieces from one of my now favorite clothing brands, American Apparel, I don't know where I would be in fashion! With various locations around the globe, the brand has some of the whackiest and colorful clothing you've ever seen. Some celebrities even have t-shirts designed by them such as my favorite band Hanson (you can go to www.hanson.net to check their merchandise out).
Anyway, some of the pieces in American Apparel stores are very recognizable thanks to mainly Joe Jonas who seems to be the brother that wears most of their clothing. However, I could've sworn on an episode of the JB's show "Living The Dream" that I did see Nick wearing a sweatshirt from the company.
So, would you like to know just how to dress like Joe Jonas and find out
what is my favorite piece of clothing from the company? Well, check out some of the pieces you can find from American Apparel! Just a tip though: Try and go to an American Apparel store you can try on their clothes. Their pieces are all made differently. My mother was a medium in one thing and an XL in another!
(Check this out in Navy. I think it's the one Nick had on in "Living The Dream")
So now that you know what Joe Jonas wears, would you like to know what The Thespian wears? Check out my favorite piece of clothing that I wore today from American Apparel. This isn't just my favorite, it's also my friends' favorites as well. It's my hoodie dress and I love it! It's long and comfy and can you wear it all year-round. Wear it to the beach or the pool as a cover-up for your bathing suit or do what I do and wear it with a pair of comfy Ugg boots and some leggings. My two friends choose to wear theirs with skinny jeans and boots or sneakers. I love this piece because it's just easy to put on and looks cute and feels great no matter how you wear it! I have it in Navy and Cranberry and my two friends have it in Purple.

33 Variations
Yesterday, I was lucky enough to get the chance to see my 19th Broadway show, "33 Variations" starring Jane Fonda. About a mother dying of ALS, Fonda plays "Katherine Brandt", a musicologist who goes to Von, Germany to study Beethoven's sketches of the 33 Variations he wrote of Anton Diabelli's waltz.
Going back and forth to the time period of when Beethoven wrote the variations and Katherine's studies, the play shows the genius of both characters: Katherine's will power to figure out the mind of Beethoven and the reasons why the famous composer wrote so many versions of this waltz.
While Katherine is struggling with her findings and disease, she is also having a hard time with the relationship she has with her daughter Clara (played by Samantha Mathis). Clara seems to jump careers, which bothers her mother. In the midst of this, she falls in love with the nurse at her mother's doctor's office, Mike Clark (played by Colin Hanks, son of Tom Hanks).
As the drama goes on, the audience witnesses history yet the dying of both Beethoven and Katherine. At one point, I almost cried because I was so into it. You could hear sniffling from everyone in the theatre.
I don't want to spoil anything about the play since it is amazing. The technical aspects are amazing as well as the projection of the actors' voices since there are no microphones.
If you'd like to learn more about "33 Variations" you can go to their website: www.33variations.com or if you have Facebook, you can check the show out on there. The show is playing at the Eugene O' Neill Theatre (where "Spring Awakening" was playing before it closed) in NYC. It is absolutely worth it and to tell you the truth, I'd see it again.
The Fray
A few weeks ago, one of my favorite bands, The Fray, released their second and self-titled album. The record features it's first single off of the record, "You Found Me" (which I love) as well as great mix of mellow yet strong songs.
At first, I must say, the album was a little hard to get used to. In fact, I thought I had wasted my money on the album itself because most of the songs are at least 4 minutes long (about two or three go over 5 minutes). My favorite songs are "Syndicate", which is the opening, "Absolute", "Never Say Never", "Where The Story Ends" and the one I love most, "Say When". Songs that I tend to skip over are "Ungodly Hour", which seems to just be too repetitive and boring as well as "Happiness" (most likely since it's the last song and one of the longest).
In the end, I highly recommend the album if you are a fan of The Fray's debut record, "How To Save A Life". Make sure to also check out dates for their summer tour in which the opening act is another artist my friends and I like, Jack's Mannequin.
Peace. Love. Jonas.
It seems like every girl loves the Jonas Brothers these days. And it turns out, I happen to be one of them. Back on Feb. 24th, the boys released the soundtrack (a.k.a. their first live album) of their new 3D movie and then the movie itself 3 days later. I was lucky enough to see the motion picture, if you can call it that, twice and felt like I was back in August when I saw JB perform with my own eyes.
The movie is great to see if you missed out on the actual Burnin' Up Tour last summer. You feel like you're actually at the concert and onstage with Nick, Kevin and Joe along with their good friends Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift (who were better than I thought they'd be). Plus, it doesn't hurt that there's a topless Joe Jonas at one point.
It seems though that the first time you see the movie is the best. I went the day after it opened and sang, clapped and screamed along with everyone else in the theatre. The second time wasn't so great considering there were many young children there and my friend and I had dragged my boyfriend and a friend of ours to see it.
Anyway, the soundtrack is just as good or even better than the movie. There is a song on it that isn't featured in the movie (the Shania Twain cover "I'm Gonna Getcha Good", in which I am addicted to) as well as songs that were in the movie but aren't on the record (ex. "Goodnight And Goodbye").
So if you get a chance, go see the movie! Be proud and wear your Jonas Brothers shirt and totebag! And don't forget, JB just announced dates for their world tour with special guests Jordin Sparks and Honor Society!
Welcome!
